Raynal Vincent

Description

This stool was handcrafted in France from wood reclaimed from former carpenters. The ash seat and legs provide a clear and balanced base, on which sit high sipo crossbars and low crossbars combining oak and sipo. This subtle contrast highlights the blend of wood species.

The faces seem to twist, the edges are broken spontaneously, without apparent logic. This assumed irregularity gives the piece a particular expressive force, halfway between fragility and tension. The inspiration, turned towards the themes of depression and madness, is embodied in this deliberately disconcerting construction, where balance is sought and undone at the same time.

The visible, metal-free assemblies use revisited traditional techniques, reinforcing the object's authenticity. Each detail bears the mark of the craftsmanship, assertive and instinctive.

The finish is made with natural camellia oil, which reveals the grain of the wood, provides lasting protection and a silky feel.

This stool can be used as a seat, side table, or display stand. Its uniqueness makes it as much a work of art as it is a functional piece of furniture.

Each copy is unique, stamped and numbered.
